In 2011, Hill began racing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series at Phoenix International Raceway. Later that season, he had the best finish of 11th at Road America and finished 17th in the point standings, winning the Rookie of the Year award. Timmy is the son of former NASCAR driver Jerry Hill and brother of current NASCAR driver Tyler Hill. They both compete in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
